Saw in the database that Grey Forest PD dispatch on 156.150, fcc database says it is licensed to gas operations in the city. Last I heard Grey Forest PD is still being dispatched by Leon Valley with Helotes.

I hear you. I'm right across the street from the airport in a building build like Fort Knox. Radio reception is poor at best. I only hear things when driving around or at home at night. If I do hear something, I'll post it.

Just saw in the database an update, now with an input and pl tone, and it says now includes Helotes. Thought they got dispatch service through Leon Valley pretty cheap or maybe Leon Valley is thinking about going to the provoice system.

I just heard the lone Grey Forest officer (9410) go off watch for the night and confirmed some things.

Between tonight and one time last week, I've heard the Grey Forest officer on 154.085 (car only), while at the same time heard the car and an unk base on both sides of 156.150 (very weak at my location in NW SA -- stock antenna).

Tonight, I finally heard Grey Forest, on both sides, on 155.910 (Balcones Heights PD). Also tonight, noticed that 156.150 and 155.910 are simulcast. All the while, no Grey Forest traffic heard on 154.725 (Leon Valley PD).

I've previously heard Helotes FD use 154.085, as a response channel, and possibly PD too (?). I suspect this may be a Grey Forest PD / Helotes PD common channel (car-to-car) since they no longer benefit from the same dispatch center (Helotes is still heard daily, dispatched by Leon Valley 154.725).

I recall earlier this year hearing that Leon Valley was going to increase the annual fee for police dispatch services to Grey Forest...something about a new method of calculating the billing (using utility hook-ups vice number of calls per service? -- something like that). I guess Grey Forest found a better deal in Balcones Heights.

All these small departments...but what else can you listen to around here?

Thanks that does explain the new freq. guess balcones heights wants to get in the dispatching of other agencies now like castle hills did with shavano park. And I guess grey forrest would need a patch freq being as far out as they are.

Correction

Sorry, my reference to 154.085 as a Helotes fire response frequency was incorrect; I confused it with 154.025. None the less, I'm hearing 154.085 as Grey Forest PD, mobile side only. I'll recommend my info to the data base.

Regards.
