I know grounding of antennas has been discussed numerous times, and I have done several 'searches'. The searches mostly discussed outdoor mounts. I recently purchased a Scantenna that I decided to attic mount and am I wondering if it would be necessary to ground it? I saw one response to grounding where the person stated it would help dissipate static electricity build-up. Should this be a concern? Just a new guy trying to get the best out of this antenna. Thanks.

Grounding the feedline before it gets to the radios is always a good idea. One of those cable tv grounding blocks is probably all you need.
