They might have been using Ch. 9 866.3215 PL 192.8 simplex mode (as they do sometimes) or C6-15 GSP HQ 27088 TG. Further details are available in the database or the KC2KZZ scanner files (highly recommended).

I was through there today on the way home from AC and didn't notice anything out of the ordinary. I thought the 55 MPH speed limit was in Neptune.

Thanks for the replies.I'll have to try them next time down there.ALL the Troop cars today were ALL UNMARKED.I didn't see one marked unit until I was on 287 N.
PS:I don't think lowering it from 80mph.to 55mph is the answer.

C3-15 Sayerville. Everything from Holmdel moved to Sayerville. The last time I passed Holmdel, which was quite a while ago, it was empty.

The old Holmdel barracks is being expanded and is currently undergoing major construction. Not sure what they are going to do with. I heard its going to be used as some kind of sub station.

Can someone verify 866.3215 is that a typo ?

When the Parkway is running these speed traps especially in the lincroft / middletown area I never heard the car with the gun calling out the car to stop on C3-15 or the headquarters channel they must be using some type of simplex channel. some of the cars have a multi channel VHF radio for spen so only god knows what there using. I won't be shocked if they are using 154.9050 or 155.550 like in the old days, Still remember Holmdel using 155.550 with Star at the end of there transmissions, awe, the good ol days.

Thanks

Tony

Yup...good ole GE star........only I think you're refering to 155.505 because Middletown PD2 is 155.550 and back then they use to run radar on 154.68 (before it was SPEN 1) and 154.92

From KC2KZZ's State PDF File
STATEWIDE FREQUENCIES
866.3125 09TA Talkaround PL 192.8
866.3125 10RP PL 192.8

I'm wondering if they could be using 858.0375 PL 151.4 Garden State Parkway 4 Comm Ops, and/or 858.0875 PL 151.4 GSP 4 Comm Ops? I don't monitor the State Police that often, so I haven't verified either one.

Your right it was 155.505, Great system as I recall, Almost better then the old Dover Twp / Toms River VHF system for the Police.

I am sure if someone sat in that area with close call we have it in no time.

Guys,

Could you guys enlighten me as to why they dropped the speed in that 20-mile stretch? KB2VXA warned me in a PM about the upcoming change (I travel the GSP quite often for work).

I tried looking for anything about it on the Asbury Park Press's website, but I guess I wasn't looking hard enough! :D

Thyey're also going to install shoulders and guard rails along that stretch. They say that in many cases, cars are going off of the road and hitting trees, which causes the fatalities. They claim that guard rails will provide a softer impact.
