Hello All,

Expecting to get new Hackrf One unit in mail in about a week.Reason for buying this is to try and learn the output of a new 4G LTE parabolic antenna purchased to run into house modem ,,for home internet at our house.

Mission: To try and figure out how well this new 4G LTE antenna performs before even placing it up on the roof. This antenna has two 'N female' connectors on it.
How would I go about bench testing this. Have watched multiple Youtubes on the hackrf one unit, but not a one shows what I am wanting to use it for,,to monitor signals from a given rf antenna

Want to try the full spectrum of what this antenna is supposed to be good for which is about 600mhz- 2600mhz

Can someone be kind enough to tell me what extra hardware i will need to interface the antenna to the Hackrf One. I am not so sure i will need a second Hackrf One to do what i am wanting to do. "generator' and ,, a receiver Hackrf One.
TIA

You could do it with two Hackrf Ones, but you would need an addition Discone antenna that gives you a flat frequency response over that frequency range. There are inexpensive vector analyzers that claim to do what you want and they cost less than the HackRF one - you might look into that.

Make sure you download the program HackRF SA. Hooking thhe HackRF1 to an antenna is simple. What one needs to know to help is what antenna you have as your questions really are about it and not the HackRF1. All one may need is a couple of SMA to Type-N adapters and appropriate cable. I hope you bought the HackRF 1 on eBay from the Chinese--those are much cheaper and work better than ones I have tested that were U.S. made (tested 6 Chinese and 2 U.S. made).
