388th Fighter Wing from HAFB to salute Utah with state flyover

The Air Force F-35A Lightning II Demonstration and 388th Fighter Wing will perform a formation flyover throughout Utah on Thursday to salute everyone on the front lines in the fight against COVID-19, as well as those staying at home to “flatten the curve.”

I was pretty disappointed in this yesterday (4/30). A large number of people gathered in our subdivision park in Saratoga Springs around 1 PM (well-spaced out of course, in a large field) and watched the skies for an hour. The flight path that I had seen advertised was right down along Utah Lake from Lehi down towards Provo...which we all were staring at from our hillside perch. Nothing came by from 1 PM until most of us gave up about 1:45 PM. Not sure how we missed it...but we did. Bummer...the video looked awesome. Was really hoping to see it.

I also was a little disappointed. Went to a park on the East side of Murray, almost Cottonwood Heights thinking I'd have a nice clear shot to see them coming in from the North and easily see them to the West. Unfortunately not the case. Was not expecting their altitude so low. Barely got to see them. Definitely heard it! Bummer x 2
