The manufacturers like Icom, Kenwood, Yaesu, etc. don't sell stuff, they only display it. You have to buy stuff from their dealers.

Hard to tell at this point.
Universal Radio's website shows $245 but that doesn't include S&H.
Houston Amateur Radio Supply is gonna be there. Their website doesn't show a price.
Texas Towers is gonna be there and they show $269 on their website.
You might get lucky and find a used one in good shape in the flea market or tailgate section.

I wish I was going. It's a little far from here in Tampa...but, hopefully, next year I'll be in Austin so I can make the drive up there.

Went yesterday. It has been downscaled since the last time I went. Not as much room in the Plano Center as it was in the convention center in Arlington. It was nice to be able to see all the ham radio companies there. Icom, Yaesu, Kenwood, Alinco, & Ten-Tec. They all had a complete line-up of their radios there for you to do some hands on with. Icom had their big top of the line IC7800 on display and so did Yaesu with their FTdx9000D. Both in the $11,000.00 range. They are some beauties and very large. MFJ had a lot of their products on display as well. Flea market was kinda small and there wasn't very many tailgaters. Tailgating was small because it kept trying to rain. Overall, I'm glad I went, because it's been a couple of years and I wanted to see all the new radios that are out there on the market. I've always been a Yaesu person, but Icom is looking pretty good in comparison. Pretty sure my next radio will be a Icom HF rig.

I was rather disappointed overall. First, the drive just to get there was like some kind of Star Trek! Its a major drive for folks on the west side of the megaplex. At least the parking was free. The hall is pretty small and I was surprised by the small number of vendors. There was more ham radio this year, versus the ad-nausium junk tables of past years. Of course, there was no shortage of individuals trying to unload useless junk and post WWII transmitters that should have been turned into boat anchors decades ago, but thats part of the nostalgia of these things! I was still able to find all the accessories I needed (batteries, antennas, etc.) but the good deals went quick. I did pick up a bunch of brocheurs, however. I liked the all day Friday/Saturday schedule versus the Friday evening, all day Saturday and 1/2 day Sunday like they used to have. I still have to say it was much better when it was in Arlington.
