I will be in Arcadia in February visiting my GF, and was wondering if the APD is still on the HC EDACS TRS, or has the entire county gone to the SAFE-T with digital? Same for the HCSO? And how good is reception of the Indianapolis TRS from Arcadia area?

I will be rolling my PRO-97 with both the 800 MHz duckie, and an RS mag mount.

From what I can tell the entire county is on the EDACS system. I listen to it quite a bit and do not hear very much coming from Arcadia and as for MECA reception ......GOOD LUCK, I work in Noblesville and have a hard time picking it up.

Hope that helps

Arcadia PD

Arcadia PD is on the Countywide EDACS system. They are dispatched by the Sheriff's Dept. on Dispatch 1 (North). Their car no. prefixes are 1XX. Be sure and program all the Arcadia Car-to-Car TGs, along with the Cicero PD TGs. They back up each other on calls so you will hear more if you listen to both Depts. Cicero FD is also handling EMS calls for Arcadia and Jackson Twp.

All the Hamilton Co. information in the RR database is up to date and accurate.

If your are going to listen to MECA, you need to know that their radios have been reprogrammed with new TGs. So you will have to enter those or scan with the bank open. I can monitor MECA from Noblesville but it is scratchy and full of static somtimes.

INDOT is still analog so you may want to program the SAFE-T system and listen to their TGs during winter weather events. But you won't be able to monitor ISP unless you go digital with a Pro-96 or 396T.

Thanks guys, I wanted to be able to check out the local flavor so to speak when she's at work and nothing else to do. BTW, is Wal mart up there running the older analog GSM radios, or the new digitals?
