Yup, should be starting very soon. Not sure about 'this weekend' but the first phase should begin very soon...

Does anyone know the rebanded freqs for Hamilton County?

This is a only a part of the list the FCC has NOT approved any license for them and no current app in with the FCC. There will be more freqs added to this list. For a good exsample of a new license for rebaning look at WNNM 854 for MECA
any lic having this will break down like this

866= 851
867= 852
868= 853

So far for Hamilton County after the last 853 freq listed the freqs are in order as in LCN for the current system
851.7625
852.1875
852.3500
852.7750
852.8000
853.0750
853.3250
853.5500
853.6625
853.8000

856.8125
857.8125
858.8125
859.8125
860.8125
867.1875
867.7750
868.0750
868.5500
868.8000
866.7625
867.3500
867.8000

Digital?

Is this really going digital?
From info on RR GE digital EDACS is not supported by any scanner. Does this mean we won't get it period or it just will not follow 'normal' trunking i.e. LCN scanning? Is this thread just about a temporary change?

Basically just tell me we will still be able to get HC when whatever they are doing is done. Or not. Spent many a year pushing scan before upgrading to trunking, so some is better than none in my book.

I had been hopeful they would just join Safe T or partner with the new MECA.....

They are NOT going digital right now nor or in the close to near future this is a small change you will still hear everything right now this is just some small programing changes on there radios how ever they will need to reband before june 26th 2008 or opt out and keep it the same most agencys are going with reband to get the new freqs and more room to work with if they so chose to go digital.
