Does anyone know if the NOAA NWR transmitter at Cape Hatteras sends a 1050hz tone before alerts? I know in my area the 1050hz tone only goes under special circumstances such as tornado warnings, but in reading the NOAA NWR website, that procedure varies from location to location. The reason I'm asking is because I have a radio that doesn't decode SAME that I want to use at the beach.

I don't know, but my receiver doesn't give the routine alerts, just the deep chit ones like tornado and hurricaine. Thought maybe the receiver was defective.
