Help identifying STARS Sites in Southwest and Central Virginia

I'm currently in the process of trying to identify the STARS Sites in SW VA and Central VA. Below are the sites that I currently have some info on. I've been using pro96com with a BCD996xt to identify sites and their adjacent sites. CC info was acquired from pro96com.

201 - Appomattox (Appomattox) I have confirmed this as being valid.
202 – I have not confirmed this as being Halifax. Any input?
203 – I currently don’t know anything about this site. Any input?
204 - I currently don’t know anything about this site. Any input?
205 - I have not confirmed this as being Orange. Any input?
206 - I currently don’t know anything about this site. Any input?
207 – I have not confirmed this as being Cumberland. Any input?
208 – It is reported in the RR DB that this is Poor Mountain. I believe this is Flat Top Mountain in Giles County. I went to this location and was receiving a signal strength of about 98% the site was reporting a site id of 208 on frequency 161.9125c MHz. Strong signal in Pulaski, Giles and West Montgomery Counties. Any input?
209 – I have confirmed this site as being Beamers Knob Adjacent to site 208. Any input?
210 – I’m unsure of this site. I receive a strong signal in west Smyth County. Control Chanel: 161.81250 Adjacent sites are: 208, 209, 211, 212, 213, 214, 216 Any input?
211 - I’m unsure of this site. I receive a strong signal in East Wythe County. Control Channel: 152.08250 - Adjacent to 211 Any input?
212 – Adjacent to 211 cc: 161.90000
213 - Adjacent to 211 cc: 152.68250
214 - Adjacent to 211 cc: 152.03750
215 – I have not confirmed this as being Hunters Gap
216 - - Adjacent to 211 cc: 161.85000
217 - I currently don’t know anything about this site. Any input?
218 – I have currently confirmed this site as being FortLewis Mountain. Adjacent sites: 201, 208, 209, 219, 220, 221, 222, 225 Any Input

I have been to Orange County (Gordonsville) a half dozen times and there is no STARS site there.

It is not Orange, we had this discussion a few months ago and strictly going by memory (dangerous) I believe I confirmed it as Bearden. I know I went up there and confirmed something, and I think it was 205. Go back and search my posts from the last few months.

I was driving through Bedford County on 460 and I was receiving a very strong signal from site 225 on a control frequency of 161.80000 MHz. Is anyone aware of a site in Bedford County? Parkway?

Sites 210 and 211

I was driving south on 81 a couple of days and I was receiving a decent signal from sites 210 and 211 in Smyth and Wyth counties.

I'm thinking that Site 210with a CC frequency of 161.81250 MHz is Walker Mountain in Wyth County and NOT Buck Mountain in Albemarle County. Any input?

I'm also thinking that Site 211 is White Top Mountain in Smyth County as I was receiving a very strong signal from Marion. This site has a CC frequency of .152.08250 Any Input?

I will try to confim these two sites on my next to the area on Monday.

I don't hear anything on 161.8125 in Charlottesville and nobody, including a LEO radio geek who lives out that way, is aware of any tower on Buck Mtn. I'm thinking it got on a wish list of sites at one time maybe?

When I was in Marion, which isn't that far from Buck Mtn, I was receiving a strong signal on the CC frequency of 152.0825. pro96com was reporting that the site ID is 211. I think it is safe to say that site 211 is Buck Mountain in Grayson, County. The FCC Database also confirms this as well. The call sign is WPVI534 which is also consistent with what pro96com is reporting.

Site 201 is not Appomattox, it is Apple Orchard Mountain in Bedford County. Pro96com confirms this and the call signs for this site are WQBN419 WQNA753.

I'm starting to agree. I'll have to look into this a little more next week. My question is why would then need one on Poor Mtn, if there is one located on FortLewis Mtn? There isn't a lot of distance between the two locations.

My apologies, there is a Buck Mtn in Albemarle too. As with quite a few other duplicate place names in VA, there is even a second, lesser known Bear Den in Albemarle County.

Carry on, you guys are doing a great job tracking down all of the new sites that came on line all at once.

Yes it would, but I've never found any indication of a control channel. Ditto for Big Walker Mtn. which appears to house a VSP conventional site.
