I finaly have Unitrucker running and am now trying to figure out how to inport talkgroup ID's using RR's Web Service. I have read the spec document but that still does not help. Anyone have a quick answer to my question? I would like to get the Indiana Safe-T system and the Marion County MECA systems.

Here are two slightly different ways of doing this ...

For Motorola and P25 ...

From the main menu, select [F]ind -> ystem. Fill out the System ID and System Type; tab over to the RR DB User ID - fill that out. Ditto for the RR DB Password. Press Alt-D to download that system.

For EDACS and MPT1327 ...

From the main menu, select [F]ind -> ystem. Locate the system on the RR DB. In the URL (displayed in the browser's location bar) is the SID - a unique number that identifies each system in the RR DB. Fill out the SID field with that number. Tab down to the RR DB User ID - fill that out. Ditto for the RR DB Password. Press Alt-D to download that system.

I should have mentioned ...

EDACS has a very weak identity. If you were to search the RR DB for "EDACS site 01" you would get hundreds of hits. Downloading by SID provides a way around this. The trick is that the data is downloaded INTO the currently monitored system. In other words, I'm giving you the rope to potentially hang yourself.

Motorola has relatively strong identity but in rare cases you will find two different systems with the same system ID (Motorola system ID 200D is one known example). You can use the alternate download (by SID) mechanism to work around this.

The same is true for P25 - which has a very strong network identity. I've heard of the US DoD re-using the same WACN/Sysid. The same work-around applies.
