Hello,
I will be visiting the area in a couple of weeks and I would like to bring my pro-96 along. From what I understand, successfully programming an EDACS system requires a precise channel order used in the scanner's bank. Can someone kindly pass along the way their radio shack scanner is programmed to cover the Lancaster/Lincoln EDACs system?

Thank you,

JD

P.S. I may be moving to the area next year for a position with UNL. If you have wonderful or not so wonderful things to say about your city - I'm all ears. I currently live in Columbus and work for OSU. I will have no problem rooting for the Huskers, by the way.

simply program the site closest to you in LCN order Skipping X000 & starting with x001. ex:if it skips slot 3 you must leave that slot blank & so forth. SET each BANK to EDacs MODE.

Hi puzzleriddle,

Thanks for the reply. This is still unclear to me. I have only ever scanned Motorola trunked systems, and "LCN" is Greek to me.

Not sure how you are programming but the answer given was correct. do not srart with 0 in the frequency list and enter them EXACTLY as listed in the database. Also, be sure ALL the modes are set to EDACS. Of course there are EDACS ESK systems that your scanner may not decode.

When you say do not start with "0" on the frequency list, does that mean NOT TO USE channel number "0" in whatever bank I am using to program this system?

Just checked the database. Just enter the exact list / ONE to twenty exactly like the list. It does show a mix with ProVoice and the ProVoice transmissions are impossible to monitor.

Yes, I see that there are couple of talkgroups that use ProVoice. Many moons ago, I lived in ABQ, where everything was (and still is) in provoice.

Thanks again,

JD
