The same goes for any private transaction via Private Message. Even if you attempt to engage in this activity in PM's we will still enforce the forum rules. Your PM's are not private and the administration has the right to read them if there's a hint to criminal activity.

If you are having trouble legally obtaining software please state so. We do not want any hurt feelings when your vague post is mistaken for a free request. It is YOUR responsibility to properly word your request.

To obtain Motorola software see the Sticky in the Motorola forum.

The various other vendors often permit their dealers to sell the software online (i.e., Kenwood). Please use Google or some other search engine to find a dealer that sells the software. Typically each series or individual radio requires its own software package. Often the Kenwood software is less than $100 so don't be a cheapskate; just purchase it.

For M/A Com/Harris/GE, etc: there are two software packages that program all current and past radios. One package is for conventional programming and the other for trunked programming. The trunked package is in upwards of $2,500. The conventional package is more reasonable though is still several hundred dollars. The benefit is you do not need multiple versions for each radio (unlike Motorola).

Trying to figure out why I can't get certain PM1500's to scan the programmed scan list. We have 6 new ambulances with this series radio in it. 3 of our older vehicles have the PM1500 radio in it. When I programmed the older series they were able to scan the selected list. However the newer ambulances won't scan. I'm able to select scan on the remote head and have it display the scan icon on the radio screen. Any ideas? Totally confused.

Using CPS v15.00.00. All radios have been programmed with the same frequencies and same scan lists. Would the firmware version in the radio have anything to do with it?

probably not a firmware issue. have you created a scan list in the cps and added the members into the scanlist?

Yeah scan list was created for the 2 seperate banks of channels. Personalities was set up correctly too. Just seems weird that the 3 earlier models of the PM scan but the 6 newer ones we have won't. The firmware on the earlier ones is 12.00.00. 5 newer ones have 14.00.00 and 1 is 14.00.01. The wierd thing is the last one listed running 14.00.01 will still pick up another counties fire traffic even though the PL to block it is enabled. All the other radios won't catch the bleedover.

Don't think it's a firmware issue. Is your mic clip grounded? It won't scan if it's not grounded, will also ignore PL/DPL codes.

Actually, the PM1500 can scan off the clip, and will not ignore PL tones while off clip if programmed appropriately.

I would still like to know if the program in the older radios is the exact same program in the newer ones. Not programmed the with the same frequencies as stated above, but is it the exact same cloned program or not.

Yeah cloned every radio with the same programming. Spoke with Motorola tech support today. He thought it might be a bad code plug. The advice given was to read one of the radios that scans normally and clone it to the ones that won't. Gonna give that a shot this weekend when I'm back up at work. I'll post my results. Hopefully that fixes this issue.
