I have programmed my bct8 with the trunking freqs, then I have programmed the ids but I have more ids than I do freqs. Do I program a Id into every channel or just one Id for a bank of channels. What is exactly a talkgroup is it a group of Ids? What I did was program the freqs and then went back and programmed the ids that were listed next to the service, I believe it said HEX, and then a number like this 9.968 is that what i suppose to program as IDs. Thanks for any help

Hello Michael , Welcome to RadioReference :)

I "made like" Sherlock Holmes and researched your callsign on hamnet and see that
may be asking about this system , correct ?
http://www.radioreference.com/modules.php?name=RR&sid=725

Enter in trunking mode a Motorola Type II system , hit SEARCH and verify you are trunktracking , you will know when ALL talkgroups appear randomly.
Once this is set up , you can create your custom talkgroups in your scanlists using only the DEC numbers.

Good Luck :)

Thanks Davein and Mciupa the info you gave has helped, so you are saying I can just prgram the freqs only I dont have to program the hex or dec numbers, I beleive I got it right went I just jump in there and programmed I seemed to hear everything fine, I just didnt want to miss anything. Give me some ham gear to figure out is no prob, but the trunking got me.
Thanks again.
