I was trying to program a system into my pro 2096 which was Motorola Type II. I followed everything right I think. I'm not totally sure on how to work a fleet map though. And how to enter them into the scanner. If anybody could help it would be a big thanks.

System Name: Allen County Government

System Type: Motorola Type IIi Hybrid
System Voice: Analog

If it's a hybrid system like this one is, you need to enter the fleetmap, but the talkgroups are the 5-digit kind, like those of a pure type II system.

If the fleetmaps are not known for the Type II hybrid system you can go over to StrongSignals.net and there are instructions on finding the unknown fleetmaps.

Alright, and I would also like to know, what purpose does a talk group ID serve?
A trunked sysytem usually has several different groups of users. That being the case there has to someway for the dog catcher to talk to the other dog catcher whithout tying up police or fire radios That is where the talk group ID comes in. it serves as an Identification for group that is using the system.
