How do I add a picture to my posts. I would like to have a picture by my user name.

That image is called an "Avatar." To add one for yourself, click the "User CP" link on the navigation bar under the box that says "Welcome (username)." It's the link all the way on the left. Then, click "Edit Avatar" under "Settings and Options" on the left-hand side menu bar on that page. Select your image and click "Save Changes."
