Help with Pro-160 | Sync to CPU

Good morning and happy new year to the members reading.

I try mutliple times and ways to get my Pro-160 to syncronize to my computer (Windows Vista). I did install the driver ''CDM20600'' and programs '' ARC160 and Scanner software'' without any sucess. The link cable i use is a Ipod - Pc/if jack to usb. I don't really know what to do to better my problem.

I bought this scanner lately from a previous owner a good buy, but i cannot get any help from him. So that why i am seeking help from members on this board.

You are useing the wrong cable, it has to be a RS P/N 20-047 or the one that superceded that one..this is a special cable with active electronics in it....and do not use the 4" extension that comes with the cable. You will also need to install the FTDI drivers that should come with the cable or can be downloaded from the RS website.

The cable you need is sold by Radio Shack and its part number is 20-546. It also comes with programming software and the necessary driver software.

Can a GRE 100-016 cable do the job ?

RS P/N 20-047 - part number is 20-546 seem to be out of stock at Radio Shack website.

If not do we know where it can be order or buy for it to be ship in Canada.
