I just gave up on my bcd 996xlt and put in it box and put it on the floor for now till charlottle makes up there minds if thy are going to use the Project 25 Phase I (FDMA) system or not .I have to other scanners for now .I have the bc 785d and the bc 796d for now and it seam like the 96 may do the job .But anyways .I have tryed to put in the code with freescan .Great program by the way .But for some reasion I get this crtl something but it not doing anything . Also when I look at the manual it talk about just the p25 not the Phase I (FDMA) So what do i need to do please HELP.

By code do you mean NAC code? If so the 796D will not decode NAC's meaning you do not have to put them in.

This is very hard to understand. What is it that you are trying to do, precisely? It sounds like you're trying to do something (you reference a 'ctrl something') but what you are trying to do is totally lost.

It also sounds like you're getting a little lost in the terminology. All receivable P25 transmissions are FDMA - don't worry about TDMA, pre-phase 2 or whatever others are calling it - because right now, that mode is totally unreceivable, and no firm standard exists for it anyway.

As for Uniden's manual- total faldecarb. Go read the Easier to Read manual for the 996XT, or purchase the printed manual. Use Uniden's manual as a cupholder. The links for both can be found here (at the bottom)...
