Does anyone know freq's Highland uses? The database is only showing 1 for fire & rescue (451.450). Somewhere along the line I'm showing a dpl of 351 on that. I'm also showing 460.050 dpl 065 for sheriff's office. I searched the FCC data and found they are also licensed for 460.275 as well. Does anyone know if these are accurate?

We're going on a drive tomorrow, and looping through there and WVa.

Thanks,
Todd

County Frequencies

Here is what I have for Highland Co.:

451.4500 mhz. pl=D205 Fire/Rescue
460.0500 mhz. pl=D065 Sheriff
460.2750 mhz. pl=Unknown Sheriff

All three repeaters are on Jack Mountain so reception should be decent. However, Highland Co. is very remote in some sections and no place to have car trouble. If you drive through the National Forest mountains especially at night watch out for the deer. They tend to favor road shoulder browsing at night because of the salt left on the roadside from VDOT's past efforts in keeping the roads passable in freezing/snowy inclement weather.

Travelling in Highland Co. a few years ago at night was one of my scariest driving experiences in state. I minimally saw/scared at least 25 deer driving up/down the mountains that night trying to get to any civilization which finally was Monterrey. I never will do it again even in good weather.

In addtion to the above, you may want to put in 159.00, which is Virginia Stae Police, Salem, if you don't have that already. I used to spend a lot of time in Bath County years ago and I rarely heard much in Bath, and never did hear anything from Highland itself except State Police. Bath was almost as bad and the dispatchers relied on VSP a lot. You may also want to put in the SIRS frequenty of 39.54. The county dispatchers use that to communicate with VSP units directly. Have a good trip.

I think that the DPL for 460.275 may be 271. Will have to check my notes.

Thanks for the info. I didn't go on the drive after all... wife wasn't feeling well. I've got the program updated for the next time, though.
Thanks
