I am looking to go hiking in and around central New Hampshire and was wondering what radio channels would be good to put on my hiking radio, I can have up to 128 channels.
Thanks in advance

Kind of depends on where in Central NH you're going. The White Mountains start in the northern tier of CNH, and theres several state parks, forests, etc.

Lakes Region Mutual Aid covers a lot of the area and they're on 159.9000/PL 210.7.

If a Search & Rescue occurs in your area, Fish & Game maybe involved using 159.465/$825.

Scan New England, in addition to RR has some good info that might drill down to the specific area.

Personally I would put the 22 FRS / GMRS simplex frequencies, any wood logging transport freqs (up here in Canada we have dedicated wood logging transport FM analog frequencies, it must be similar in NH), you could add forest rangers freqs if any, add also any railroads freqs if near your hiking trails, and I would also add the 5 VHF MURS frequencies.

for Monitoring ? As John mentioned the local FD/PD and Fish and Game.

As a SHTF Radio, bring a cellphone, spare power pack and/or program up FRS/GMRS, do not come up on Public Safety channels without written permissions
