HP-1: Home Patrol 1

Hello, I was gifted a Home Patrol I and so far I'm enjoying it. However, it didn't come with the programming cable or manual. I've order the cable for the purpose of updates/upgrades, but don't know where to find the manual. I'm trying to learn more about this scanner through videos I've watched on youtube, since this is my first scanner. I would appreciate any advise and/or suggestions regarding this unit to enhance the listening experience and explore its full potential. TIA

Be sure you have the latest version of the Sentinel software (Windows only) from here:

http://info.uniden.com/twiki/pub/HomePatrol/HomePatrolSentinel/HomePatrol_Sentinel_2_03_02.zip

First thing to do is follow the instructions on page 6 of the owners manual to update your firmware and database. It’s important to be sure those two are up-to-date when you first start out.
