Using a Davis Vantage Pro 2 wireless here as well with F.A.R.S. and solar/uv sensors as well as evap/soil temp sensors.

It powers VPLive, WeatherDisplay, Virtual Weather Station, & WeatherLink connected through software called VirtualVP. Then all data is sent to my web site.

Very reliable station. Had it for 6 yrs and not once have I had to change the batteries in the ISS or had any problems with it and it's still as accurate and strong wireless signal today as the first day I bought it even after taking the beatings of Texas summers and being moved twice. Very low maintenance to say the least. Yeah it's pricey but it's worth every penny.

I use a LaCrosse Technology WS-2310 (second one I've had since my son absconded with the first when he moved to Edmonton), running Cumulus software, and feeding Weather Underground.

I've been using a Netatmo setup for over half a year. The display for this unit is your iPhone/iPad or Android device.

It's super accurate, and measures indoor CO2 levels.

Curious what you measure CO2 levels for? Does it go up when you open a beer too close to it?

Nope, when I cook or bake something on the natural gas oven/stove, CO2 levels go up. Anything over 2000 can in some people cause sleepiness and tiredness.

A byproduct of natural gas after burnt is CO2. Not deadly, but nice to know the levels. CO is deadly, which this sensor does not measure. I have a separate sensor for fire/CO.

Here's when I cook soup for 10 minutes. The CO2 levels skyrocket. The sensor is two rooms away from the kitchen.

Well that's pretty interesting, cool, and useful all at the same time.

I got this weather station from Lowe's last month for $99

AcuRite 8" Professional Digital Weather Station with Weather Ticker / Forecast / Temperature / Humidity / Wind / Rain 01500

I'm very pleased with it,huge upgrade from the Weather Channel one I had.
I just bought and set this model up on the 20th. I really like it so far. Was wondering how yours is doing after a year?
When this one craps out I intend to buy the Davis one and call it a day. I keep hearing they're well worth the $500.

It's funny that you ask! It was destroyed by Super Storm Sandy! I now have a Davis Vantage Vue which is a 1,000 times better than Acurite!

Yeah I hear so many good things about Davis. I just cannot justify $500 in my mind for a glance of weather out my door. Your Davis is a more pro type unit that a lot of contributers to weather sites use. Thing is, these Acurites crap out after a year or two but the Davis' go on and on which is probably the reason to go ahead and get one. Which is my next choice:)

Yes I started to have issues with the Acurite well before Sandy came, the one unit I had the RH wouldn't go below 98% they send me a new one thanks to the warranty.

I am using a LA CROSSE technology thermoeter for my temps readings.
On the back of the house i have a Taylor for my over all temp/wind and direction + humidy reading
The sensors transmit at a very close channel so beware of co-channel interferance.

IMO, it may be pricey but in the long run it pays for itself versus a less affordable model. $500 seems affordable compared to the more professional models that cost 1K+. I have the VP2 Plus wireless and it's lasted me going on 8 years strong without one single problem and it's been through 2 moves and still works as good as new like the day I bought it.

It all depends on what your willing to pay for. If that's your budget than that looks like a suitable setup. It is by no means a weather station.

It also depends what you want to do with it. If you want to have wind readings and rain measurements that won't do it. Also if you want to record data and or upload it to WU or a website that won't be able to do it. If you are just wanting temp, humidity and dew point than it looks like it would be fine. Just do some research on it and read the reviews. One thing I would really look into is how well the sensor holds up to the elements and just have well the wireless signal works. There is a lot of wireless units that don't work as advertised for a few reasons like the structure of your home and where your sensor is sited. The signal might not be strong enough to reach through your home or where you want the console. You won't to make sure your unit is sited properly so you get accurate readings. It may take some trial and error and moving it around to find that with this unit versus an actually weather station. How often are you going to need to change ya batteries. Will it be sited in a reasonable location that is easily accessible. Just a few things to consider.

If you are just wanting temp, humidity, baro and dew point then it could be fine. Just make sure you research it will for the reasons outlined above as well as others. Like stated, it is not a weather station. It's just a real fancy thermometer. If that's all you're waning then you should be ok.
