I have programmed the Homewood Public Safety LTR system in my 396T according to the RR database, and no luck. Suggestions appreciated

No luck meaning what? Can you not hear it? Can you not program it? Are you getting scanning errors?

I don't understand what you mean here - other than the frequencies. Do you mean temporary assignments, groups or what? Sorry to be ignorant but you are a bit cryptic to me - could you guide me along to understand what you mean?

I loaded the eight frequencies in the third msg of this thread as an LTR system and haven't heard a peep. I have been at Brookwood hospital most of the week, so I am sure I am in range.

I honestly haven't tried the old simplex freqs, but I will. I am using a 396T has have monitored LTR systems without a problem in the past.

I programmed all 12 frequencies (3 sites x 4 freq each) listed in the FCC data base for the "Y" systems in conventional mode, along with 460.125 and 460.65.

I hear PD just fine on 460.125 and FD just fine on 460.65 (plain old conventional mode)

Occassionaly, I would get a "hit", like someone momentarily keying a mic on one of the 12 trunked channels, never any audio, and never any "data" or "digital" noise.

When I would hear audio on the PD or FD channel, if I hit scan, I NEVER hear audio on one of the other 12 channels. My experience on LTR is that you should hear audio, though you might not "hop" to the proper channel, but this was in conentional mode and I heard nothing.

So I am done trying to figure out any sort of LTR set up! Just staying with the basic channels

dgoodson -- my experience is the same as yours. We must be missing something. It would be good if puzzelriddle could give us more of a tutorial and less of a riddle.
