I didn't know which forum to put this in since it involves a lot of different areas. If this is the wrong place for this thread, feel free to move it to where you see fit.

Alright, I got around to programming my 2096 again this last weekend and was just wondering how to do this...

I want to be able to keep a few banks open that have the control channel frequencies in them so I can listen for any new talkgroups that might show up in the future. I also am near a few others that aren't programmed into my sub-banks. However, a department in my city is encrypted now and don't want to hear the garbled noise that comes through. Do I need to add all of the talkgroups that the department uses to those banks I want to keep open and then lock them out? Is there any other way that I can do this? I don't mind, it's just going to be time consuming adding all of those numbers into the sub-banks.

Thanks.

What I would do is make a note of the encrypted TG IDs, enter them in to the sub bank and lock them out. Even in open mode the scanner will ignore locked out TGs in the list. This way you don't have to load all of them...just the one's you don't want.

Yeah. I keep four banks open. I just didn't want to have to type (or copy and paste) all of those numbers.

Anyway, just a minute ago I figured out how to do it through the web import feature on WIN96.
