How do you see the tags?

Am trying to use iTunes to see tags on streams. Does not seem to be working. Was trying to see tags on the Mendocino County CA fire feed a few days ago.

I've actually had better success with scanner cast using tags, it shows up on my Android, not so much on my iPod, Proscan may also work, I've not used iTunes in a while but I don't seems to remember tags working with it, but it could now idk

I think the tags work on vlc media player.

iTunes supports metadata (text tags) so the media player is not the issue. It could be the source side software doesn't support sending metadata embedded in the mp3 stream or the scanner is not sending text tags for some reason. Do you know what software is used on the source side?

I just listened to the feed for a few minutes with ScannerRadio, and although it's a pretty quiet feed, I am seeing the tag change to "Police Dispatch" whenever they're active, then back to "Scanning", so there is definitely some confirmed tag activity.

I just removed iTunes and reinstalled it - then went to Mendocino County feed at Broadcastify - selected iTunes - clicked once - then clicked arrow at left - looked like I downloaded some script - iTunes box appeared - clicked on rite pointing triangle at upper left - no sign that anything is working - ???

I am signed into Broadcastify as premium user

I use Winamp to see tags, works well. You can also customize notification for it so when the feed gets traffic the information can pop up from different sides of your screen.

Yup. Winamp is my goto. But I am just curious what people are seeing with vlc, I see nothing ?

Yeah I get the same thing however it does not change when the talkgroup comes up. It just stays as that text. Unlike winamp that shows the talk group

Just downloaded winamp and installed it - cant get any audio via winamp - was at Barnstable County Mass feed - downloaded static url and that seemed to play OK without winamp - but could not see any text tags - then tried to get winamp to play the feed - no luck - tried to "play file" that Broadcastify gave me when I selected 'winamp' - it says "connecting to host" and the url jiggles back and forth - but thats all that happens - the winamp player is from 2018

We seem to be making progress - at the Barnstable County feed I selected Winamp - downloaded the URL - uploaded it into Winamp - and it works - I can hear audio and see the text tags

Lets try Mendocino County CA again - yup - Mendocino County is working - can hear audio and can see text tags - the text tags are popping up in a tiny window at the lower right corner of my window - nice

Mendocino County - 453 pm est - possibly a BLM Ranger ran a party - some record about "no alcohol' - any CCW? - no - ran a weapon - it is clear - is it registered as an assault weapon? - no it is registered as a rifle - Code 4 - 34R1 BLM now running a second weapon from same guy - 456 pm - springfield armory (gun) - clear and registered to that subject - south channel - seems to be a different world out there
