does anyone know how to import frequency data ie., list from the FCC wireless website? Trying to import all my counties frequencies toy sds100. One of my counties departments is using a frequency that either they aren't supposed to be or they have switched it to something they were never using without notification to the fcc. My job is to find it and this would really make things easier thanks in advance

You need to download about 7 different huge files, since the info you need isn't in just one file. from the website, the files are not broken down by regions, then combine them into one file and format that information into a file the scanner will accept. The whole process is about 10 gb of data and about 5-10 hours of combining them into usable data, and the files are updated weekly so you'd have to repeat the process each week to stay current. OR, pay the $15 to join RR and download the data from the FCC in the RR database for your county or state. Then it would only need to be formatted for your area.

Doing that would have really slow scan rate though and you'd miss more info than you catch. Also, you might not catch the control channels or digital channels unless you program them as both digital and analog. Another option, if you know what agency is go to where they have an antenna and use close call to search.

I understand, but the FCC isn't set up to do that, it is a complicated process to download the frequency info. It's not like RR

i just tried it with a number sort program and it seems easier to just type in the freq by hand because of all the deleting.
so i second the join RR thought.

You should be able to use the zip code on the SDS 100 with the Uniden factory software to import the nearby frequencies.
You can also perform searches from the FCC here:
https://fjallfoss.fcc.gov/General_Menu_Reports/
Pretty simple to search for a specific frequency for a county when you have a frequency in mind.
As far as importing the FCC database, it is cumbersome to achieve and transfer into the radio and when you are done, you will have many frequencies, no CTCSS values and no trunking configurations.
Radioreference adds a tremendous amount of value to simplify complex scanning data and make scanning successful.

If a frequency is being used without a license, then it's not going to be in any FCC database.

The SDS100 already includes the RadioReference database. Updating it is a matter of a few mouse clicks in the Sentinel program.

Making a list of frequencies is mostly useless without knowing what system and site each frequency goes to. You're trying to reinvent the wheel, and updating your database via Sentinel is probably all you really need to do.

If they are using an UNLICENSED channel the FCC is not going to have the info

Best to put your radio into SEARCH or Close-Call near an officer transmitting.
Keep in mind if now DMR close call won't work.

what band do you think they are using ? 900, 800, 700, UHF-T, UHF, VHF High, VHF Low ?

They always used vhf but think they might be on uhf. It's a county channel and they work closely with other departments in our county so they have to be using something. Also I'm thinking a possibly they may be using dmr but like I said all prior frequency went silent years ago

If you name exactly what or who you are looking for , there is a good possibility that someone here already knows the information you are looking for .

How do you know this for sure? Have you ruled out other possibilities? Encryption, joining a regional or statewide system, etc?
Why not pose the question on your state's discussion forum? Maybe click the report link and ask for this thread to be relocated there? Perhaps there'll be someone local who'd be in the know as to where this "rogue" agency is operating?

Seems to change on a regular basis, from FCC data to 250 freqs, to my county, to someone elses freqs/system/TG I'm lost and feel we have provided the answers to each of OP's changing request for help. You guys have fun, and I hope you find the ghosts out there.

OK today while in the city I brought my sds100. Bingo! Problem is that I am very confused. I said I think it may have been a DMR and obviously it is. However, I'm not picking it up anymore at my home so it might be mobile to mobile? my scanner has the DMR upgrade and it shows color code 7 but i don't think it accurate I don't think it's encrypted it has a strange unidentified sound I tried to attach it disregard text message sound in the beginning

Sounds like the DMR information sent before/after a call not the call itself, albeit very weak
