Monitoring the Phoenix metro area from N/E area of Phoenix. When I first turn the HP on it will usually scan to a Phoenix PD transmission. After the intitial conversation ends, it will not pick up any other PPD traffic. I have to turn the unit off and power up again. I've waited up to an hour letting it scan and it won't receive any PPD traffic (PPD isn't going an hour w/o radio traffic.) It will receive other agencies during this time. I've also tried locking it on to an active PPD talkgroup and it still won't receive after the initial traffic. The scanner is in the exact same location in my house all the time. Distance is set at 25 miles, squelch at 2 bars and signal attenuation is off. Anybody have any ideas??

hold (tap) on system (RWC), tap far right (<), tap "sites". I see 15 sites. Laboriously go through and "avoid" the 14 that are not the best site for you (I avoid all except "Simulcast A: Phoenix PD). When avoided the sites will be yellow, and "your best site" will show as the "Active Site". May or may not help. And of course I do this in a favorite list, never with the whole DB.

Good Luck with your HP, Mine wont hear anything either and this is the Second one that wont work.
Is it a programming/database problem or is it a hardware problem?

Since the problem is with 2 different units, my guess is that it is a setup or database problem.

It seems like the absolute dependence upon the RR database is both the strength and weakness of the HP1.

His is a combination programming/database issue. People tried to help him in the threads he has posted, but it's tough to do given the limited info he is feeding back.
