If you are having trouble legally obtaining software please state so. We do not want any hurt feelings when your vague post is mistaken for a free request. It is YOUR responsibility to properly word your request.

To obtain Motorola software see the Sticky in the Motorola forum.

The various other vendors often permit their dealers to sell the software online (i.e., Kenwood). Please use Google or some other search engine to find a dealer that sells the software. Typically each series or individual radio requires its own software package. Often the Kenwood software is less than $100 so don't be a cheapskate; just purchase it.

For M/A Com/Harris/GE, etc: there are two software packages that program all current and past radios. One package is for conventional programming and the other for trunked programming. The trunked package is in upwards of $2,500. The conventional package is more reasonable though is still several hundred dollars. The benefit is you do not need multiple versions for each radio (unlike Motorola).

Hi everyone. Im programming a ht1250 vhf radio and have priority scan selected channel option enabled in the scan list. What should the time (ms) be for advanced tab signaling hold time be? Currently it's at 625ms. I have priority selected channel scan check time at 500ms. It's cutting off the beginning of the non-pri channels transmissions while scanning. Any ideas?

That's pretty much what Priority scan does. It needs to be utilized carefully.

The timing will depend on what you prefer. Our officers are using Kenwood's and I've found the default setting works well. Probably not the same as what Motorola defaults to, though.
The Priority Scan "Lookback" time is every 2 seconds. In other words, if it's on a different channel than priority, every 2 seconds it'll flip back and check the priority channel.
It'll check it for 0.5 seconds. If no traffic, it switches back to the original channel.

You can play around with the times and find a setting that works best for you, but it's always going to do the brief cutout thing. Just the nature of Priority Scan.

It will drastically lower the accuracy of selective calling to about 20 to 30% alert accuracy (IIRC), and calls will be missed if depended on.

I know thats what it does. Im just wondering why it totally misses the reply on the non priority channel and doesnt unmute the speaker but then unmutes the speaker the next transmission on the same channel?

I generally do lithium at 20-30%. 1. Thats an lithium old cell phone longevity charging tip Ive used over the years. 2. If I dont turn off the battery alarm, it begins beeping shortly thereafter anyways when it hits 10
