ProScan: Hum when using usb cable

Trying to setup Pro scan remote scanner over ip. Have everything working but I'm getting a bad background hum when the usb cable is hooked from scanner to computer usb port. Guess away even just the audio cable is hooked up. Same audio source on both options. I tried multiple usb ports also. Any ideas?

The USB cable or device its hooked to is what is providing the path to ground. Any imbalance in the path will cause hum, hence the need for a ground loop isolator.

I use this $11 isolator and it solves the same issue you are experiencing.

I ordered a noise isolator and it solved the problem. Thank you all

The best "Isolator" will have a audio transformer in it,
