Anyone knwo what I can do Ihear a humming noise on my upload from Otero county? sorry I didnt know where to post this thanks for any info here is the site for my live you cansee what I am talking about.

Otero County, Colorado (CO) Live Police, Fire, and EMS Scanners on RadioReference.com

Thanks for any info

Sounds like it is either coming from the scanner power adapter or the audio cable is not shielded enough. Try moving everthing away from the computer and "wiggle" the cords and see if anything happens, that should tell you where the noise is coming from. Good luck

noise

there are 2 other things you can try
1) turn the inline volume down, it should be under the half way point
2) try a different outlet
3) ground the radio
4) change the bit rate to 24 not 16
5) make sure the cable that is being used to transmitt in not in the headphone plug it should be in the external speak hole which will be in the back of the scanner.

if you have a laptop hooked to the scanner, unplug the AC power cord. if the hum goes away you have a ground loop. if you are using an external antenna that is grounded, try disconnecting it and tune to something you can pick up with a rubber duck antenna. same thing, if the hum goes away it is a ground loop.

Could also be an issue with your soundcard. Check the audio in/out for your soundcard and see if that helps. You may also wish to shop around for a different sound device. I had an issue with my feed that was solved by replacing the on board lap top sound with a usb soundcard made by Turtle Beach.
