Just set up a Rasberry Pi to stream a scanner channel on Broadcastify. Unfortunately there is the constant background hum which I did not have when I was streaming from my Windows computer. I do have the loop isolator attached but no luck. The hum is so loud that the archives record the radio “silence” between transmissions. Anyone have an idea on the exact hardware set up for streaming on the Pi? Thanks.

1. Try removing the isolator.
2. Try a different audio cable. wiggle the connections to ensure they are tight.
3. unplug the audio cable from the scanner. plug it into the earbud jack on your phone. play some music. see if that music comes through on your feed without the hum. if hum is gone, then the scanner is the source of the hum.

Thanks for the quick reply! I removed the isolator and it actually helped, but not enough for the archives silence trim. If it is the scanner what are any remedies?

The pc has a ground prong on the plug which grounds everything. The pi’s do not have ground prong on their plugs. Not sure if it matters but just throwing it out there

With that said, I believe if the pi is using hdmi monitor, it connects the pi to ground since the monitor has a ground
