Programming a Pro 164 for my dad in Sebewaing. He is having trouble hearing traffic except for the page outs. Do we need to set the mode to FM or LTR??? Also using only the Bad Axe, Central frequencies as I have no info for the Sebewaing and Port Hope tower being online at this time. Any help would be great.

From what I heard no scanner can track ltr multinet but you can monitor the system program all the trunk freqs in and in fm mode you will hear traffic .
When I used to go to Caseville a few years back I would program all 7 Bad Axe tower freqs in fm mode and could monitor all the traffic fine

Hmm, I have done that with his scanner. I put all 7 of the freqs in, but he doesnt seem to be picking up anything. I fear that most of the Huron Co Traffic has gone to the P25, but I have not seen any updates on RR on that.

Huron Co has talk groups on ,MPSCS but I can not tell you how much it is used if at all if you put in all 7 freqs that did include Sebewaing and Pt Hope freqs as well sorry I could not be much more help its not the best system in the state.

I have done a lot more digging, and It appears that they have switched over. I am attempting to get in contact with the 911 director, a good friend of mine, to see what I can see. May have to update RR on this if I find out something

Yeah I have it programmed in. Put them all in. You'll find just like Tuscola is, generally one of frequencies will be constantly on. Lock out that one. Also I have found to that if someone talks, some odf the other channels will just be like the squelch is open, you can find the talking on one of ther other channels. The database suggest trying to monitor it with two scanners.
Of course to nail it down to just sebewaing area... well certainly not much radio traffic for that very rural area.
I wonder if maybe they might look to join mpscs as lapeer has and Tuscola will be.
Can I ask your help? If you know what Thumb body express uses for their frequency in Tuscola, If you could program in the all the other frequencies and have it find their PL/DPL codes? None listed. Besides not as much radio traffic on the 911 side of the things it would give him something else to listen to.

For my 30 ft. discone her in bay city its at the limit to reach that far out to decipher them short of the stronger signals from Huron dispatch.

I added some freqs that are not in RR database that are in a old Police Call book to try in my above post
