CLEAR CREEK COUNTY – An SUV was severely damaged after what appears to be a rock fell on it, piercing its roof and sending one person to the hospital Monday afternoon.
The Colorado State Patrol was notified of the incident involving a rock or boulder on eastbound CO 6, just before Tunnel 3 around 4:30 p.m.
The victim, a man, was transported to a local hospital with minor injuries. A Flight for Life helicopter was initially called to respond, but was then told to stand down.
CO 6 is a popular highway connecting Golden with the casino towns of Central City and Black Hawk.
