Soundman I have to agree w/ Blinddog on this one. The dept. I work for had this happen several times. The tow companies always end up reporting it as a B&E, but our suspicions were always back w/ the drivers.

First and foremost sorry about the wreck , and hope no one was 10-7'ed in it........I totally agree with both these fellow scanner enthusiast , where did they take the vehicle? The tow truck dude might have BUT could have been the garage.....thing is proving it is a matter of another story....good luck anyway , hope you solve the mystery !!

The Scanner

Well I talk to the tow truck driver and he said he did not see it .Now I do have a medic sticker on my car so thy may think it is a police radio and give it to the fire dp . So I have to look there next and for the other thing I know if was in my car when I was at the crash site becuse I head it on .Even when I was still bleading from my head I still head it on . I really miss my truck . But I will keep you all posted .I am going to talk to my insurance and see about getting some money out of it .But my big problem is the other people thy just need to get well . Thy just had the crappy insurance . But I had the full insurance .Thanks guys

I have to agree with everyone here..... i was in a wreck a couple of years ago, & the head to my /\/\ Syntor ( A9 by the way ) was missing when I went to the garage to retrieve my stuff. I know it was in there because I used the radio to call in the accident. I spoke with the owner of the garage / towing company, and he said his people denied any knowledge of it. I called PD, had them come to the shop, filed a stolen property report. Shortly there after, the driver of the tow truck produced it, and was arrested for posseion of stolen property. If I were you, and my vehicle was still at the garage, or storage facility, file a stolen property report, and then report it on insurance. At least if you report it stolen, you may have more leverage with insurance.

Also, was it a unit actually INSTALLED, or afixed to the vehicle, with outside antenna? The reason I ask is, some insurance companies try to be funny, and say that if the accesory was not affixed to the vehicle its not covered. This is BS. As long as it was in the vehicle, it is covered. PROVIDED, you have full coverage, or at least coverage to cover accessories. Just my .02, hope it helps, and good luck, hope you feel better soon!!!
