I recently purchased a Pro-97. All I have right now is the rubber ducky, and i get decent reception on most things, but i want to improve both the MilAir and regular air reception (I'd love to get air-to-air comms) any suggestions for a low-cost antenna?

After looking through this forum and talking with different people, most recommend this antenna as it is pretty good over a broad range of frequencies. http://www.universal-radio.com/catalog/scanants/2368.html This antenna is pretty good in the civil air range from what I am told, so I picked up two from universal radio.

If you are looking at monitoring mostly 800 mhz freq's then you would probably want to pick up a Radio Shack 800 mhz handheld antenna. Most people like these antennas for 800 mhz, I however have not used one because there is not much 800 mhz stuff where I live. http://www.radioshack.com/product/i...052.2032075.2032078.2032098&parentPage=family
