i turned my PSR 600 back on and all says or does is say uP boot ver:F1.4
uP App ver:NONE
CPU SW Upgrade
Wait for PC/IF
How do i get it back to scanning

Sounds like you're in firmware update mode. Are some buttons stuck?

Did you try to perform a firmware upgrade? With the one line saying "NONE" it sounds like an upgrade didn't work (or was interrupted), or the scanner lost the firmware. If you have the programming cable, you can try doing the upgrade and see if it takes. Although if the scanner just lost the firmware, that could be flaky/bad flash memory - it could happen again...

Edit:
Just playing around with my 600, holding PGM while turning on is how you normally get to that screen. It's possible you have a stuck key, but mine also shows the current uP App Ver (U1.7 in my case) so, again, with yours saying NONE I'd bet you'll have to do an "upgrade" to reinstall the Application firmware.

The firmware upgrade shouldn't erase anything you had programmed in the scanner, you might have lost it though when the firmware upgrade occurred. I guess do the obvious and enable a scanlist otherwise check to make sure that objects are assigned to scanlists.

I am having the same problem (same message) with my PSR 600. No buttons are stuck and i tried to update frimware but to no avail. Message on PC says "received an error message from the scanner. Retrying the operation maybe successful . Please retry from step one." Tried numerous times and same message everytime.
Could use HELP !!! Any ideas

I cant even get the welcome screen to display so i can return to factory defaults.
