• To anyone looking to acquire commercial radio programming software:

Please do not make requests for copies of radio programming software which is sold (or was sold) by the manufacturer for any monetary value. All requests will be deleted and a forum infraction issued. Making a request such as this is attempting to engage in software piracy and this forum cannot be involved or associated with this activity. The same goes for any private transaction via Private Message. Even if you attempt to engage in this activity in PM's we will still enforce the forum rules. Your PM's are not private and the administration has the right to read them if there's a hint to criminal activity.

If you are having trouble legally obtaining software please state so. We do not want any hurt feelings when your vague post is mistaken for a free request. It is YOUR responsibility to properly word your request.

To obtain Motorola software see the Sticky in the Motorola forum.

The various other vendors often permit their dealers to sell the software online (i.e., Kenwood). Please use Google or some other search engine to find a dealer that sells the software. Typically each series or individual radio requires its own software package. Often the Kenwood software is less than $100 so don't be a cheapskate; just purchase it.

For M/A Com/Harris/GE, etc: there are two software packages that program all current and past radios. One package is for conventional programming and the other for trunked programming. The trunked package is in upwards of $2,500. The conventional package is more reasonable though is still several hundred dollars. The benefit is you do not need multiple versions for each radio (unlike Motorola).

Greetings,

I have a new (never used) IC-F9011S, firmware version 2.5.0 (SUM 783E/2650/19C2) and I am using the CS-F9010/F9510 software version 3.0.0. I am able to read from the radio and the I/O check works fine, but when I try to clone write to the radio I get a "Connected transceiver is not compatible model". I am pretty sure I am using the correct software for the firmware version. Any ideas?

I have a number of Icom LM radios, mobile and portable, and have never had this issue before. I tried calling Icom support and they won't talk to me because I'm not an authorized dealer. The closest dealer to me is 1,000 miles away.

From what I can find there are only three versions of the CS software. I have tried two of them with the same results. This one, 3.0.0, states it is used for firmware 3.0 "and older". If you have information about an earlier version of the CS-F9010 I would love to know where to get it.

That makes sense, but I have been unable to find v2.0 anywhere. The oldest I can find is V 3.0 that states it is backwards compatible with older firmware versions. Does anyone have an idea where I can find an older version?

Thank you everyone. I was able to get a copy from Quality Two-Way Radios (www.quality2wayradios.com) for $49. I had to contact them and ask about it as it wasn't listed on their inventory list but they had it. Now my paperweight talks. :)
