The forecast is calling for ice in this area. Should be some good scanner listening on Sat.
Hey kc0jar, (Toledo's new police officer) it was nice to meet ya. If your working Sat. i'll be listening for 86-43.

That it will be. Dad is already in bed. They already have a 4am call out for him to hit the streets of clive if not earlier. Might try programming the dot freqs back in to see if i hear anything.. I would say the best ones to listen to to find out what is going on out there is A. Local and state Police B. City and County Roads and plows. and C. State Plows if you can hear them. oh and D. Ham band if anyone is out there... I know i will have my dad's Westcom TGID Tuned in for some good listening

Heard some digital today" DOT plows" from Altoona shop with the new GRE 500!
I'm in Des moines, kinda cool first time!

Looks like were in for it again this weekend and on maybe into next week.. I know my dad and friends who plow snow are gearing up for another round of fun, although i don't think will loose as many power lines this time, it's "Suppose" to be light fluffy stuff.

As i sit here @ our office(13:35) The snow is comming down very heavy and the ISP Dispatch freq is really chatty with slide off's and wrecks. So are the local police freqs

Yep, same thing here. DOT plows are out (159.195 Tama) lots of talking.

I don't know what the NAC is because i was using my 396 but i believe i heard them on 159.1800 in the dsm area. i was driving so i glanced at it real quick to see who it was
