No way any software is going to make a receiver a true scanner; however, there's a surprising number of packages that list 7100 support, even though the receiver really never caught on in the market. I assume that, like the 7000 older brother, you must have the CI-V interface installed...

I use ScanStar Industrial enterprise edition for my R7100. Although I don't really use it for searching, more for scanning known frequencies. It works well as a slave in the program's "Search/Slave" mode also where a quicker scanner searches and passes any hits to the slave radio for monitoring.

I also use ScanStar software with my R7100. When I originally bought the radio, I used a DOS based program from Deltacomm. I don't know if they are still around today.

Deltacomm, AFAIK, is gone - at least their website was, last I checked. Interesting, tho - you're one of the few I know that even used their programs. Fortunately, tho, there are alternatives. 73s Mike
