Good Morning from a sunny UK !!!
Quick question if you could help please ?
I have 2 x Icom r2500 radios, both with remote heads and both have a separation cable that came the radios - I have seen on a well known auction site (wasn't too sure if I was allowed to mention it ?) anyway there area a few sellers with a separation cable of 3m + which would be but I'm a little wary.
If they were not compatible or similar , could they screw up my remote head/radio ?
Any thoughts ?
Many thanks in advance

It's a standard RJ12 cable you can buy anywhere. I think the R2500 standard length are 2 meters so it should work up to at least 4 meters.
Check the colours on the Icom cable, to see to which pins the go on each end and verify any other cable you intend to get that it has the same pin to pin configuration. There are special reverse pin RJ12 cables to get so avoid those.

Probably more helpful if you provided links.

How long is the cable that was in the boxes with your IC-R2500s? Both of mine are around 3.3mm long anyway?

The cables are wired straight through and easy to replicate yourself with off the shelf items.
