• To anyone looking to acquire commercial radio programming software:

Please do not make requests for copies of radio programming software which is sold (or was sold) by the manufacturer for any monetary value. All requests will be deleted and a forum infraction issued. Making a request such as this is attempting to engage in software piracy and this forum cannot be involved or associated with this activity. The same goes for any private transaction via Private Message. Even if you attempt to engage in this activity in PM's we will still enforce the forum rules. Your PM's are not private and the administration has the right to read them if there's a hint to criminal activity.

If you are having trouble legally obtaining software please state so. We do not want any hurt feelings when your vague post is mistaken for a free request. It is YOUR responsibility to properly word your request.

To obtain Motorola software see the Sticky in the Motorola forum.

The various other vendors often permit their dealers to sell the software online (i.e., Kenwood). Please use Google or some other search engine to find a dealer that sells the software. Typically each series or individual radio requires its own software package. Often the Kenwood software is less than $100 so don't be a cheapskate; just purchase it.

For M/A Com/Harris/GE, etc: there are two software packages that program all current and past radios. One package is for conventional programming and the other for trunked programming. The trunked package is in upwards of $2,500. The conventional package is more reasonable though is still several hundred dollars. The benefit is you do not need multiple versions for each radio (unlike Motorola).

This is a large and very visible forum. We cannot jeopardize the ability to provide the RadioReference services by allowing this activity to occur. Please respect this.

or am I stuck with

Ch-01
BRECK FIRE

#2:

How do you set the radio up to page and how do you get the MDC to only do EOT encode only.

You are stuck with

ex.
ch-01
FIRE 1

You need to go the the MDC1200 Menu
Go to General Turn MDC on and enter your ID

Then go to PTT ID
Turn RX on and TX ON and select PTTID UP-That should be set to enable
DONE.
Dont forget in the general programming to turn MDC1200 on the chan. you want it on

What Type of paging do you want to do?

I also am looking for help with the ICOM cloning software, CS-F3160/F5060, a F6061 radio I purchased off Ebay or the radio's firmware.

I purchased a F5060, the ICOM cloning software (ver 4.1) and the ICOM cloning cable OPC-1122U (all ICOM original, no clones) in 2011. I am able to program that radio. I recently purchased a F6061 radio on Ebay. I am able to read the radio information using the Clone/Information pull down menu:

Serial Number: ###########
Model : LMR
IC-F5060 Series
Revision : 2.9
Sum : $59B9
Comment : REV 2.9.1

When i attempt to read the radio using the Clone/ Read < - TR pull down menu it downloads the data and then gives an Illegal Data Error at the end.

I have also checked the firmware at startup using P0 and P3 pressed at startup; I get:
REV 2.9.1
Sum59B9

Any thoughts or suggestions

ICOM's techs say I need to find an older version of their cloning software F3161/F5061 EMDC 2.7.1. I would suppose that if uploaded a more recent version of firmware I could use my existing version 4.1 software but I don't want to lose my wide banded capability since I want to use it for Ham and GMRS.

Any comments for help would be appreciated.

Contrary to what has been propagated in these forums, you are not going to lose the wideband capability by upgrading the FW to 5.3. ALL my 5061, 6061, 4161, and 4261 radios are running FW5.3 and they all have FM wideband enabled :)

The only issue I had when I got the 4261 radios was that they were forced to FM narrowband and could not enable it in the programming software; however, I sent it to my dealer and FM wideband was enabled for me in order to use them in the amateur bands :D
