IF Level keeps resetting back to MAX

WS 1098, Whistler Base - Mobile Digital scanner version 2.50. Under Advanced Features-Audio Options- IF Output is set to off, Level is set to MUTE. Close the software, reopen it back to the same location and IF Level is back to Max. Repeat resetting it to mute, close software; and reopen software and now level is back to MAX again.
This recently started to happen and cannot stop it. I have tried rebooting computer but still have issues. Any ideas other than un-installing and re-installing the software?

if the IF output is still set to OFF - it doesn't make any difference - there is nothing to MUTE when the output is OFF.
