I just wondered if anyone could show me a cheap way to power up my cb at home. I have my bc246t on my computer desk and wanted to put my cb on the desk also. Can I power the cb through the computer power source? As a kid I ran a car stereo and equalizer off a converter. Any suggestions would help, thank you.

You could power it with a converter just as you would wth any other 12Volt DC gadget. Not sure that a computer power source would work (not to familiar with them). Best of Luck and Good Scannin........................Hoser147

A Pyramid or Astron power supply will work fine. Depends on how much power the radio puts out. Just don't run it off a piece of crap Radio Shack power supply and you'll be fine. Yeah, a computer power supply will supply too much voltage and you'll probably fry the radio.

Check R and L out. They have some nice little power supplies made by JetStream. They're a cheaper brand, but I've had nothing but awesome luck with mine. I've ran a CB and a 2M ham radio off of it at the same time and it still kept up with the draw I was putting on it.

Just my 1 1/2 c. :)
