For everyone who doesn't already know about it, the Incident Page Network is pretty darn cool. You can get breaking news incidents sent right to your phone, pager, or email box. The coolest part is that IPN is supported by scanner buffs like you and me who act as dispatchers. You can dispatch from work or home via their website, or if you're on the road you can call in to their dispatch hotline. They offer rewards like free gift cards that you can earn for dispatching.
There are some great dispatchers in PA but I know there are more. I know for a fact there are some great people scanning the Philly area that aren't dispatchers. I say give it a try. I just signed up and I love it. You get free service with IPN if you dispatch, and you only have to send a minimum of 3 events per month. If you are interested go to their web site and check it out. www.incidentpage.net
The more coverage the better. Major news stations in the Philly market have IPN pagers, so incidents that you dispatch could end up on the news. It's a blast if you're a breaking news junkie like me. Highly reccommended.
