Should there be a visible indication of the charging process on the display when you connect the dc supply to an Uniden XLT92?

No, the BC92XLT does not have any charge status indicator. It does have a low battery power indicator, however.

There's no progress indicator because these chargers are not "smart chargers", but simply timed chargers... which is why it's best to charge the batteries outside of the scanner in an external charger.
