So, I have a weak, but mostly consistent, simulcast signal at a certain window. 770Mhz is the CC range. Using the RS 800mhz receiver antenna now.

Obviously, a yagi is the ticket, but I'm hoping for something indoor I can just plop on the windowsill and run the scanner nearby so the sun/window heat doesn't destroy it. Something even BETTER than the RS 800mhz?

There's a lot of interesting antennas out there and was curious if there is anything better than the RS and more focused on 770mhz (or perhaps, something directional that's fairly small)

Have a look at the HB9CV; it’s is a two-element yagi-alike antenna where both elements are driven and so gives directionality similar to a three-element yagi. That should be nice and small and fit on a windowsill with no issues.
