When I worked for the highway we were using a Motorola Type II analog system. Most of the other districts did too, I believe. Low band has been out for years AFAIK. Did they reband their old equipment or install Astro stuff?
Greenfield is on Safe-T as is Connersville. In fact Connorsville is easy to hear by putting their TG's on the Hancock frequency....they drove me nuts till I realized why they were coming through on Hancocks system.
The Gary & Laporte DOT area is very active on Safe-T. One of the most active talkgroups is 12976 LaPorte District Traffic Management Center. They dispatch all of the Hoosier Helper Vehicles. They broadcast any disabled vehicle or traffic accident on all of the interstates throughout the Greater Northwest Indiana Area.
I concur.. FT Wayne and Laporte Districts were active on SAFE-T almost as soon as the towers went up. All analog up here that I've heard from the subs. I haven't heard any Lo-band traffic since the switch.
The area serving Tipton and Howard Counties is on the SAFE-T system. It is pretty mundane and it didn't take me long to lock them out. I did listen during the snow storm when they were plowing but otherwise they remain locked out.
Rebanding hasn't happened here yet. Most INDOT talkgroups are analog. They probably did what Knox County did; had the gear they already had reprogrammed to use SAFE-T.
Most TMC talkgroups are digital, but the other operational stuff seems to be sticking to analog, for now.
