Okay, this may be the impetus I need to redo my antenna/cable setup at this point....

I get a S9 carrier on 434.5875, the occasional beep, CTCSS 64.7 (which goes off and on). I get the same carrier, S9 +20db on 905.3. I thought maybe it was a ham club or something maybe putting up a new repeater on 70cm, but I'd have thought I'd get the weaker signal on the 900MHz band (sorta like the IFB's from TV Hill), but that's not the case... maybe a new repeater on the 33cm band?

Never would've noticed this 'cause I rarely scan 900MHz anymore.....the damn 2.4 and 5Ghz phones show up in this range more than the ones actually built to use on 900 ever did...

There's nothing in the TMARC or ARTSCI databases for this frequency pair, but it sounds like you may have stumbled onto a Amateur TV (ATV) repeater; the configuration you describe isn't all that far off, and there are several folks in the area experimenting on this band.

They must be right down the street, then.....this discone is all but deaf at 900MHz because of the longish coax run, but the signal is blowing me out of the chair....

Edit: ....and another at 904.9, and another at 904.675, as well....TMARC says that range is for Digital Packet Simplex....I guess they aren't to the point where they're doing any data traffic yet....
