I recall several years ago when the Scanindiana list on qth.net was going, occasional posts regarding IPD VHF "Tac" Channels.

These were VHF channels, supposedly on modified radios, across the entire spectrum of 143-170Mhz (roughly).

Can anyone confirm if these types of frequecies are still in use?

I seem to recall one of the list members attempting to log and provide info to FCC for investigative purposes.

It goes back and forth. The uppers will order radios out of cars. Slowly they reappear, and the cycle repeats. Frequency wise, they are all over the 151 - 158 range. Aparently they learned to stay clear of the 2M band. In some of the smaller beats they seem to like the GMRS channels as well.
