I have Echolink on my iPhone and love it. My problem is more about the iPhone than Echolink. The volume for both transmit and receive suck. Has anyone found an external speaker/mic that works with the Echolink App?

I use EchoLink on my iPad and it works great, but I would also be interested in seeing if anyone has any ideas for an earphone/mic combo.

Wirelessly posted (Mozilla/5.0 (iPhone; U; CPU iPhone OS 4_2_1 like Mac OS X; en-us) AppleWebKit/533.17.9 (KHTML, like Gecko) Version/5.0.2 Mobile/8C148 Safari/6533.18.5)

Have you tried a Bluetooth headset or earpiece? Either should work fine with either device.

Does that iPhone or iPad even have the capability of accepting an external earphone or microphone? The earphone I can see, but a Microphone?

(Because of a hearing aide compatibility problem, I don't have either.)

They sure do! If you look at an iPod/iPad microphone/earphone plug, you will see that there are 3 rings. For normal stereo earphones, there are two rings (actually a ring and a sleeve) with one being for each channel plus the ground, but the additional ring is for the microphone --

I've seen these on line and they look interesting, Have you (or anyone else) tried one. They're under $5 with free shipping, not much of a risk I think I'll order a couple.

A friend of mine uses a Bluetooth headset for his, The problem was finding one he liked. I-phones are awesome... I love the quality of sound when Iphone users connect to my link. I don't have one, but run an RF node on elink.
